Chen is an associate professor, supervisor of postgraduate students, Senior Craft Artist, Fujian Province Master Craft Artist, Ph.D. of Lacquer Fine Art at the Tokyo University of the Arts, Managing Director of the Committee of Lacquer Art Branch of the China National Arts and Crafts Society, Managing Director of the Committee of Wood Carving Branch of the China National Arts and Crafts Society, member of the China Artists Association and member of the Japan Cultural Lacquer Association.

自古以来宝石就是人类的宠儿，以其珍贵、高雅、稀有、富有文化底蕴的特点和闪耀的外观深受人们的喜爱。它象征着平安、永恒、富贵和神秘。作品通过用漆来镶嵌不同材质的玉石金银等材料，让它们汇聚在一个画面，更能够彰显出漆财富与高贵。玉兰花的点缀更能够显出高洁、芬芳、纯洁的品质。
