Chen is an associate professor, supervisor of postgraduate students, Senior Craft Artist, Fujian Province Master Craft Artist, Ph.D. of Lacquer Fine Art at the Tokyo University of the Arts, Managing Director of the Committee of Lacquer Art Branch of the China National Arts and Crafts Society, Managing Director of the Committee of Wood Carving Branch of the China National Arts and Crafts Society, member of the China Artists Association and member of the Japan Cultural Lacquer Association.

艺术家将上海豫园城隍庙附近的风景为主题营造出一幅传统的园林画面，但通过螺钿、金薄的运用表现出一种富贵与辉煌之感。

The artist has portrayed a traditional Chinese garden of the scenery in the vicinity of the Shanghai Town God's Temple, and highlighted the splendor and luxury with raden and gold foil craft.
