Art description:
A sense of feminine perseverance and struggle is visible in Fan Xiaoyan’s creation, along with defiance against destiny and reality, and a steadfast belief in the power of concerted efforts and human agency; there is no route that a (wo)man cannot traverse, no mountain that a (wo)man cannot scale. Her work represents the tenacity of contemporary Chinese women.
